Heat & Cryotherapy
Heat and cryotherapy use targeted temperature — warmth to relax tissue and improve circulation, and cold to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. We often pair them with adjustments and other therapies as part of your treatment plan.
Cold Therapy
Cryotherapy consists of applying cold compresses to the skin, both to reduce its temperature and constrict blood vessels in the area. Applied to fresh injuries, it can help reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. It is also an excellent way to help with muscle spasms, and is known to help numb painful areas while providing cooling relief to the affected soft tissues. Commonly used in sports medicine, its power to ease pain and decrease inflammation can be helpful to those in rehabilitation programs for injuries or who have chronic pain.
Heat Therapy
Heat works the opposite way: it opens blood vessels, increases circulation, and relaxes tight muscles. Moist heat applied before or after an adjustment can loosen stiff joints and ease chronic muscle tension, helping your body get more out of each visit.
